World Population Overload!
Posted on August 01, 2007

The world population is the total number of human beings alive on the planet Earth at a given time. In July, 2007, the world population has reached over 6.6 billion. In line with population projections, this figure continues to grow at rates that were unprecedented before the 20th century, although the rate of increase has almost halved since its peak, which was reached in 1963. Currently the most populous region is Asia, with China and India being in the forefront with over a billion people each. The least Populous regions? Greenland and Antartica!

Check out the below World Clock widget to see some intersting facts about current world populations!

This World Stats Counter shows current statistical figures for world population, births, deaths, deforestation, and much more. Except for population and earth temp, all stats reflect the growth since the beginning of the selected time period. You can choose to show growth since the beginning of the year, month, day, or from the moment you click the Now button. All figures represent World stats except divorces (world estimates were not available) and illegal immigration (mostly a US issue and also unavailable worldwide).
